Oratorio to remain
in Australia for 2012

ORATORIO, who sired Beethoven and Fencing Master to finish first and second in the 2009 Dewhurst Stakes, will stay in Australia for the upcoming northern hemisphere season under Coolmore ownership.

The son of Danehill, who won three Group 1 races including the Eclipse Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes as a three-year-old, has sired two Group 1 winners in Australasia. Manawanui was successful in the Tooheys New Golden Rose at Rosehill earlier this year and Banchee was victorious in the Auckland Diamond Stakes in 2010.

The sire has also tasted success in Europe this year with the Tommy Stack-trained Lolly For Dolly winning the Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot. She was bought at last week's Tattersalls December Mare Sale by Oshini Keisuke of J S Company for 500,000gns.

Oratorio stood at Coolmore's Irish base this year for a fee of €9,000.
