GALILEO's unbelievable season saw him reach another major landmark on Saturday when his four-year-old daughter Opera Gal landed the Listed August Stakes at Windsor to become his 100th stakes winner.

Coolmore's 2001 Anglo-Irish Derby winner is the second son of Sadler's Wells to hit the century mark this year following stud-mate Montjeu, who is now the sire of 107 stakes winners.
Jeff Smih's homebred Opera Gal came into the race in good form for Andrew Balding, having runsecond to Primevere in the Listed Upavon Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury on her previous start.
Inbred 2x3 to Sadler's Wells, she is the first foal out of 1m winner Opera Glass, a sister to the high-class Opera Cape, who ran third in the2005 Dewhurst Stakes for Smith prior to his sale to Godolphin. Further back, it is the famous Littleton Stud family of Grey Shot and Night Shot.
Thanks to Maybe's victory in the Moyglare Stud Stakes on Sunday, Galileo's Group 1 tally stands at 24 individual winners, nine of whom alone have scored this year. With representatives such as Classic winners Frankel, Misty For Me, Roderic O'Connor, Treasure Beach and Golden Lilac and King George hero Nathaniel, Galileo is well on course to secure a third dominant champion sires' title.
In all, he is the sire of 54 Group winners - no mean feat considering his first crop didn't hit the track until 2005.
And even at this early stage, he is developing into a noteworthy broodmare sire, with his daughters already responsible for this season's Phoenix and Gallinule Stakes winners La Collina and Alexander Pope.
Galileo stood the past season at Coolmore at a private fee.
