Further increases registered at OBS April

THE third session of the OBS April Spring Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale produced another strong trade, with figures rising across-the-board.

The session saw 174 horses sell for a total of $4,751,000, a $6,500 increase from last year. The average and median each increased eight per cent to $27,305 and $18,500.

The clearance decreased marginally from 73 per cent to 72 per cent.

A daughter of Whywhywhy, who ran the quickest three-furlong work of :32 4/5 seconds last week, topped the day at $150,000.  Tommy and Bonnie Hamilton of Silverton Hill purchased the filly, who is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Big Lou and out of the stakes-placed Vermilion Sea.

Michael Yates of Shadybrook Farm consigned the filly, who was a $37,000 purchase from last year's Keeneland September Sale.
