at OBS Winter Sale
THE declines registered in the opening session of the two-day Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2009 Winter Mixed Sale were replicated on day two.
The top price achieved on day one of $87,000, given for an Exchange Rate colt, was not bettered in the second session, with the day topped by a Macho Uno yearling filly out of the multiple stakes-placed mare Dance Kat. She made $33,000.
Over the two days, 343 of the 527 of the hoerses offered sold (a clearance rate of 65 per cent) at an average price of $6,207, a fall of 40 per cent from last year's average of $10,283.
