Flatter colt sells for $925,000 at OBS March

A MUCH-HYPED son of Flatter soared to the top of the leading purchases in the second session of the OBS March Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale on Wednesday, when bought by Kaleem Shah for $925,000.

The colt had clocked a time of 20.6 secs - the fastest over 2f - in the sale's under-tack show.

Consigned by Eisaman Equine as agent, he is out of the unraced Quiet American mare Silence Please, making him a half-brother to restricted race winner Sky Music and from the family of Grade 1-runner-up Keep The Peace.

Shah bought Take Control, a son of A. P. Indy and outstanding mare Azeri, for $1.9 million as a two-year-old at Keeneland in April 2009 after the horse was not sold for $7.7 million at Keeneland September months earlier.

A Bernardini half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Dream Rush brought the second-highest price of the sale when agent David Ingordo bought her for $500,000.

Ingordo sourced Zenyatta for her owners Jerry and Ann Moss and Bernardini has been chosen as the first mate for Zenyatta.
