Noble Mission makes it perfect three for dam

Bet365 Gordon Stakes (Group 3, 3yo) Goodwood 1m4f

Winner: Noble Mission

b c Galileo - Kind (Danehill)

NOBLE MISSION stepped out of the shadows of his superstar brother Frankel with a hard-fought victory over Encke (Kingmambo) in Tuesday's Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

His dam Kind now has a perfect record of three Group winners from her first three foals. Kind's first foal Bullet Train (Sadler's Wells) won the Lingfield Derby Trial and now has regular pacemaking duties for his year-younger three-parts brother Frankel (Galileo).

Frankel bids to extend his unbeaten record to 11 races by collecting his eighth Group 1 in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday.

Noble Mission, like his brothers trained by Sir Henry Cecil for woner-breeder Khalid Abdullah, won the Newmarket Stakes in April and was runner-up in the Fairway Stakes and King Edward VII Stakes on his last two starts.

Kind, a daughter of Danehill and Lancashire Oaks winner Rainbow Lake, won two Listed contests over 5-6f for Roger Charlton.

A half-sister to Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Powerscourt and this month's Grand Prix de Paris runner-up Last Train, Kind has a two-year-old colt by Oasis Dream named Morpheus and a yearling filly also by Oasis Dream, but was sadly barren to Galileo this year.

Noble Mission becomes the 65th Group winner for Coolmore supersire Galileo and the ninth of those out of a Danehill mare.

Aside from Frankel, other Group 1 winners bred on the Galileo-Danehill cross are Cima De Triomphe, Golden Lilac, Maybe, Roderic O'Connor and Teofilo.
