Second Golden Bonus winner announced

BBA Ireland's Eamonn Reilly has been announced as the holder of the second winning Newsells Golden Bonus ticket, drawn atlast week's DBS St Leger Sale.

Reilly purchased a Newsells Park Stud-consigned Royal Applause colt out of Statua – at £120,000 the third most expensive lot in the auction – and entered his golden ticket into a prize draw to become eligible.

As the buyer with the winning golden ticket, Reilly will receive £10,000 if the colt goes on to win one of the races qualifying for the Racing Post Yearling Bonus, or a Class B race in France.

Newsells Park enjoyed a fantastic St Leger Sale, also consigning the top lot, a Dansili colt out of Cayman Sunset, who was purchased by MV Magnier for £200,000.

The stud's general manager Julian Dollar said: "I would like to say a huge than you to all the buyers of our yearlings at the sale, as well as the all-important underbidders for their support.

"In difficult economic times, we are more grateful than ever for the faith and confidence placed in our yearlings."

Next stop for the Newsells Golden Bonus is the BBAG yearling sale in Baden Baden this week. Newsells Park Stud is selling four yearlings at the sale within the Gestüt Fährhof consignment, which is also eligible for the Bonus.
