Kodiac wins at Newbury, July 2005

Newbury Listed winner for Tally-Ho sire Kodiac

KOHALA more than paid for her Goffs €4,200 October Sale purchase price when winning today's Listed St Hughes Stakes at Newbury. The filly picked up £12,192 for her efforts.

The two-year-old, who is out of the Ridgewood Ben mare Annahala, is by second-season sire Kodiac, who has had three further Listed winners, all of them as juveniles.

He stands at Tally-Ho Stud and is currently at a career-high stud fee of €6,500.

His yearling average last autumn was 18,000gns with a top price of £105,000, which was given by Sir Robert Ogden for a daughter of Florida City (Pennekamp), while in 2009 his average was 15,482gns with a high price of 60,000gns.
