for Strategic Prince
YOUNG Coolmore stallion Strategic Prince added another stakes winner to his resume on Sunday when the former Richard Hannon-trained Tones obliged in the Baffle Stakes over 6 1/2 furlongs at Santa Anita.
The Doug O'Neill-trained three-year-old, whois the second stakes winner for his sire following last season's Phoenix Stakes heroine La Collina, was winning for the third time in eight starts having scored at Epsom and Wolverhampton for Hannon last year.
Purchased for €18,000 by Woodhaven Bloodstock at the Goffs November Foal Sale, Tones was resold as a yearling to Kern/Lillingston for £25,000 at the DBS Premier Sale. He changed hands to Gordian Troeller for 34,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horsesin Training Sale and was later sold to race in the US in a deal brokered by Jamie Lloyd.
Bred by Whisperview Trading in Ireland, Tones is the only foal out of multiple Italian winner Social Honour. The daughter of Entrepreneur is a half-sister to five winners and out of the Listed-placed Social Upheaval, a granddaughter of Grade 1 Acorn Stakes winner Windy's Daughter.

On what was a good afternoon at Santa Anita for European imports, the former Nigel Tinkler-trained Byrama (by Byron) landed the 6 1/2 furlong turf allowance for Simon Callaghan.
Bred by Ermyn Lodge Stud, Byrama is a half-sister to the Horris Hill Stakes winner Klammer and out of the Darshaan mare Aymara.
