Run For The Hills heads early trading

TATTERSALLS' July Sale made a steady start this morning with the John Gosden-trained Run For The Hills heading the early trade.

The Normandie Stud home-bred finished third in last season's Listed Rous Stakes at Newmarket and was sold yesterday for 60,000gns to Alastair Donald of the Kern Lillingston Association.

"He's going to Roger Charlton for an owner who I've bought for before," said Donald. "He's a fine sprinter and will probably be dropped back in trip as he didn't seem to stay seven furlongs last time.

"He's a good Saturday horse who could easily win a £50,000 handicap and could go on to run in Dubai."

Three-year-old New Christmas, a colt who scored twice on the all-weather in December for trainer Brian Meehan and Music Show's owner Jaber Abdullah, was earlier bought by Devon handler Chris Down for 31,000gns.
