Tale Of The Cat colt lands Group 3

NAVAL Officer gave his sire, the US-based Tale Of The Cat, a first European juvenile Group success of the season when striking in the Prix de Conde at Longchamp.

The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt is the highest-rated performer to date out of his dam Wandering Star, who has produced two other minor winners to the Storm Cat line.

The daughter of Red Ransom was a useful filly for James Fanshawe, taking the Atalanta Stakes as a three-year-old. She improved again when sent to the US, notching a win in the E. P. Taylor Stakes and a placing in the Long Island Handicap.

A three-parts sister to Grade 3-placed Major Hero (by Major Impact), Wandering Star is a granddaughter of Gris Vitesse,  dam of the Irish Derby second and leading sire Silver Hawk.
