Guineas winner Ghanaati set for Dream date

GHANAATI, winner of the 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes in 2009, will visit Juddmonte stallion Oasis Dream in the coming weeks following the birth of a Dubawi colt foal.

Richard Lancaster, stud director at Shadwell, said: "She has recently given birth to a smashing Dubawi foal and the plan is to send her to Oasis Dream. Having already visited two top stallions in Dansili and Dubawi, the logical decision is to visit Oasis Dream. He has built on his fantastic start at stud and on pedigree it should be a good mating."

The 2008 1,000 Guineas winner Natagora, whom Shadwell purchased privately at the end of her racing career, will be heading to Darley stallion Dubawi. She is carrying to Oasis Dream and is due on March 30.

Another privately purchased mare, Cuis Ghaire, a dual Group 3-winning daughter of Galileo who finished runner-up to Ghanaati in the Guineas, will also be heading toJuddmonte to be covered by Dansili.

Lancaster said: "When we go through all the mares we look at the stallions who have been successful and who we feel will suit the mares. We have also sent a number of mares to Sea The Stars."

Lancaster believes that the future is bright for Shadwell with a good crop of foals and yearlings. "I was in Ireland last week and we a have a number of nice yearlings," he said. "The foals that have been born this year have also been of the highest calibre, including the foals by Arcano."
