Resplendent Glory off the mark with first winner

GROUP 3-winning sprinter and first-season sire Resplendent Glory is off the mark with his first winner.

Spyder broke his sire's duck when winning a 1m½f maiden at Nottingham on Wednesday.

Trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, Spyder is out of the Vettori mare Collect, a placed half-sister to dual winner Knickyknackienoo.

Bred by Graham Aldrich and Tracy Robinson, he runs carrying the silks of Christina Blockley.

Resplendent Glory is by a champion sprinter in Namid, and is out of a mare by another champion sprinter in Thatching.

Unsurprisingly he was a speedy customer, winning six of his nine starts including the Listed Scurry Stakes and Group 3 Laurent-Perrier Champagne Sprint Stakes, both at Sandown.

Originally retired to Benson Stud in Essex, he was transferred this year to Walton Fields Stud in Leicestershire, where he commanded a fee of £2,000.
