DBS Lincoln Handicap Sales catalogue out

THE catalogue for the DBS Lincoln Handicap Sales, which take place on April 1, has been published.

Some 125 horses have been entered for the auction – 30 fewer than were catalogued last year and 45 fewer than in 2007.

Highlights of this year's sale could include Hearthstead Maison, a Group 3-winning son of Peintre Celebre, Grand National entry Nadover and last month's impressive bumper winner Cunning Clarets, who holds an entry for the John Smith's Champion Bumper at the Grand National meeting.

DBS managing director Henry Beeby said: "The timing of this sale creates an ideal opportunity to purchase a runner for the Aintree festival and this catalogue contains live chances of success at this great event.

"This has been proved in recent years and, coupled with the Flat success that was highlighted by Daytona in 2008, we are confident that buyers will be able to fill any order at this sale."

At last year's renewal of the sale, 93 lots sold for an aggregate of £592,100, at an average of £6,366. The clearance rate stood at a healthy 87 per cent.
