Autumn catalogue

A TOTAL of 195 horses have been catalogued to the Arqana Autumn Sale, which will take place at Saint-Cloud on November 16.

The catalogue contains 170 horses in training, including those consigned by operations such as the Aga Khan, Wertheimer et Frere and the Niarchos family.

The Group 3-placed Sans Chichi and the Listed-placed Free Minded, Gallilei and Cadeau For Maggi head the Flat entries, a group which also includes the unbeaten two-year-old Ucandri and Montagne Lointaine, a winning daughter of Numerous from the family of Dewhurst Stakes runner-up Fencing Master.

Among the jumpers onoffer is Najaf, who won the Listed Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal at Auteuil before running second in the Grade 3 Prix Pierre de Lassus.

Arqana has also catalogued 12 two-year-old stores, including a Ballingarry half-brother to the top-class jumps mare Line Marine, while four spaces - lots 40, 80, 140 and 165 - have been reserved for Wild Card entries.

The Arqana Autumn Sale has been a successful hunting ground for buyers on both sides of the Channel in recent years, yielding the likes of Racing Post Chase winner Nacarat and talented young jumper Mandali, who won a Listed hurdle at Auteuil in June.

Last year's renewal saw 112 horses change hands for a total of €2,044,000. The average dropped by ten per cent to €18,250 while the median fell by nine per cent to €10,000.
