Juddmonte unleashes exciting maiden winner

KHALID Abdullah's Juddmonte operation unleashed another exciting prospect when three-year-old filly Mystic Dream won comfortably on her debut in France on Friday.

Barry Hills sent Mystic Dream to Deauville to contest the 6½f Prix de Saint Valery maiden on fibresand. She won comfortably by one and a half lengths from the Clodovil filly Boastful, with Nausycaa, by Noverre, another length back in third.

The manner of the victory suggested the filly could play a fine supporting role to star players such as Frankel and Workforce in a potentially standout 2011 Flat season for Abdullah.

Like many of Abdullah's horses, Mystic Dream has Juddmonte blood on the top and the bottom of her pedigree.

She is by leading young sire Oasis Dream, who stands at Abdullah's Banstead Manor Studat a fee of £85,000, making him Britain's most expensive stallion.

She is the second foal produced by Tarot Card, a daughter of Fasliyev who won over 6f on her debut at two and was a fair fifth, four and a half lengths behind Red Bloom, next time out in the Fillies' Mile.

Tarot Card is out of Listed October Stakes winner Well Beyond, making her a half-sister to Group 3 scorer Out Of Reach and Cherry Hinton Stakes third Well Warned, later dam of Listed winners Emergency, Prior Warning and Prohibit.

Well Beyond is a granddaughter of Juddmonte taproot mare Mofida, ancestress of Elmaamul, Midday, Reams Of Verse, Regal Parade, Zafonic and Zamindar.
