A DAUGHTER of Haras du Mezeray resident Myboycharlie lit up the second select session of the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in Australia on Wednesday, selling for A$75,000 (£51,194/€61,508).

Offered by Korilya Stud, the filly was knocked down to local trainer and agent Joe Byrne, who was acting on behalf of Malaysian client Wayne Lim Woie Chet.

The filly is the fourth foal out of Who Rang, an unplaced daughter of the Danehill stallion Blackfriars from the family of Group 2 winner Fair Alert.

Lim also signed for a A$70,000 (£47,781/€57,405) colt from the first crop of Darley Kentucky shuttler Street Boss, consigned by Yarradale Stud.

Trainer Trevor Andrews remained active, going to A$73,000 (£49,825/€59,859) to secure a son of Danehill Express. Offered by Geisel Park Stud, the colt is the second foal out of seven-time winner About Carla, a daughter of the Nijinsky stallion Serheed.

The session brought the total traded at the select sale to A$2.424million for 95 lots sold at an average of A$25,516 (£17,415/€20,923).

The median price is A$20,000 (£13,650/€16,399) while the clearance rate is running at just over 65 per cent.

"The quality lots tonight attracted strong interest and were the subject of spirited bidding," said Vin Cox, Magic Millions managing director.

"Obviously we would like to see the clearance rate climb tomorrow during the final session of the select sale."

The select sale continues on Thursday from 11am (WA time) before the general session at 5.30pm on Saturday night, which is followed by a racehorse sale.
