Grade 1 winner Mr Sidney retires to Quesnay

THE French stallion ranks continue to swell for 2010 with the news that Grade 1 winner Mr Sidney will enter stud at Alec Head's Haras du Quesnay at a fee of €9,000 .

A leading turf miler, Mr Sidney's finest moment came in this spring's Grade 1 Maker's Mark Mile Stakes at Keeneland. The son of Storm Cat was also successful in the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs in July and ran third to Court Vision in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes in October.

Mr. Sidney won or placed in eight of 13 races and retires as the winner of nearly $500,000 in earnings for Lee Einsidler and Circle E Racing Stable.

A $3.9m yearling, Mr Sidney is a son of dual Grade 1 winner Tomisue's Delight, herself a half-sister to US Horse of the Year and sire Mineshaft as well as Group 3 winner Monashee Mountain.

Their dam, Grade 1 Acorn Stakes heroine Prospector's Delite, is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Runup The Colors and Italian Group 1 winner Flagbird.
