Pyrus to stand at Dehesa De Milagro in Spain

PYRUS has joined the roster at Spanish stud Dehesa De Milagro.

A Mr Prospector half-brother to Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Matiara, Pyrus was trained by Aidan O'Brien at two, when he was awarded the Richmond Stakes on the later disqualification of Endless Summer. Later in his career he raced in the US, where he developed into a useful miler.

The 11-year-old was originally retired to stand at Westbury Stud in New Zealand and was transferred to Ballyhane Stud in County Carlow in 2005.  He also shuttled to Haras Santa Mariana in Chile.

His best progeny include Oil Man, a Grade 3 winner in the US, smart handicappers Brief Encounter and Pyrrha, and Polar Cup winner Chicken Momo.

Pyrus is set to arrive at Dehesa De Milagro, where he will stand alongside Caradak, Delfos, Keltos, Leadershipand fellow new arrival Diktat, in January. His fee has been set at €2,500.
