Folkestone: jumps scorer for Imperial Dancer

PREMIO Roma winner Imperial Dancer was represented by his first National Hunt winner on Tuesday when his second-crop son Mr Muddle landed the On Your Mobile Novices' Hurdle at Folkestone.

It was a deserved first victory for four-year-old gelding Mr Muddle, as he has finished runner-up in three previous hurdle races. He is trained by Sheena West for his owner-breeders Saloop Ltd.

Mr Muddle is out of the unraced Environment Friend mare Spatham Rose, a half-sister to 3m chase scorer Alfred The Grey and 2m5f novice hurdle winner SilverSerg.

Imperial Dancer, a versatile son of Primo Dominie who won 11 races between 5f and 1m4f including one Group 1 and three Group 3s, retired to Lavington Stud in 2005 and remained there for three years, when he was moved to Norman Court Stud. Last year he was sold to stand abroad.

Imperial Dancer's best offspring is first-crop son Imperial Guest, winner of the Listed Doncaster Stakes at two and third in the Ayr Gold Cup at four last season.
