First foal for Group 3 heroine Songerie

LANWADES STUD has reported the birth of the first foal out of its home-bred Group 3 winner Songerie.

The new arrival, who was born in Kentucky, is a colt foal by Mr Greeley, sire of Group 1 winners Finsceal Beo, Saoirse Abu and Reel Buddy.

A daughter of Hernando and a sister to Listed winners Souvenance and Soft Morning, Songerie won her maiden by five lengths on her debut at two.

She signed off her juvenile season with a win in the Group 3 Prix des Reservoirs at Deauville, and went on to finish in the first four in the Nassau Stakes, the Prix de Pomone, the Park Hill Stakes and the Prix de Royallieu at three.

Songerie will visit Langfuhr this year.

Lanwades also reported that Songerie's dam, Summer Night, has produced a colt foal by Smart Strike this year.
