Xaar juvenile Broox scores Group win

BROOX, a son of Xaar, secured a first Group race win in at Maisons-Laffitte on Monday. The juvenile colt, who had previously placed second in the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin and fourth in the Prix Morny, and is the third foal of Miss Brooks, by Bishop Of Cashel and winner of a Wolverhampton maiden at three.

Eoghan O'Neill, who now trains in France having left his Nottinghamshire base, bought Broox for €18,000 at Arqana last October. His granddam, Crimson Rosella, is a half-sister to July Cup and Prix de l'Abbaye winner Mr Brooks. Broox is his sire's first winner this season from his current juvenile crop in France.
