Dandy Man retired to stand at Ballyhane Stud

GROUP 1-placed sprinter Dandy Man has been retired and will stand his first season next year at Ballyhane Stud in County Carlow for a fee of €4,500.

A member of the only crop sired by the ill-fated July Cup winnerMozart, six-year-old Dandy Man was bred by Mountarmstrong Stud out of the Molecomb Stakes scorer Lady Alexander, who also defeated subsequent 2,000 Guineas hero King Of Kings inthe Anglesey Stakes.

Dandy Man began his career in the care of Con Collins and his daughter Tracey, before being purchased to race for Godolphin at five.

His best efforts came when winning the Tattersalls Ireland Auction Race and Listed Tipperary Stakes at two and the Palace House Stakes at three, and when finishing second to Miss Andretti in the King's Stand Stakes and third behind Kingsgate Native in the Nunthorpe at four.

Ballyhane has also released fees for its other stallions, with most receiving reductions.
