More Than Ready sires 100th stakes winner

FLAGSHIP Vinery stallion More Than Ready became the latest stallion to sire 100 stakes winners when his Australian-bred daughter Oak Park took the Listed Windsor Park Rotorua Stakes at Arawa Park in New Zealand on Saturday.

The Murray Baker-trained three-year-old scored by a head under Lisa Cropp in the colours of J M Collins. She was bred by Dr A. E. Bray out of Dawnie Dancer, a winning daughter of Fasliyev.

More Than Ready has enjoyed success at the top level in both hemispheres, siring high-class American performers such as the Breeders' Cup winners More Than Real, Pluck, and Regally Ready and Australian runners such as multiple Group 1 heroine More Joyous and Golden Slipper Stakes winners Sebring and Phelan Ready.

The 15-year-old son of Southern Halo, who won the Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes, stands for $60,000 at Vinery in Kentucky and A$121,000 at Vinery in Australia.
