Australian activity
boosts Keeneland

AUSTRALIAN buyers continued to remain active at the Keeneland November Sale in Kentucky on Monday with agent Vin Cox going to $170,000 for the day's dearest offering, Get Ready Bertie.

A daughter of More Than Ready, who has sired Golden Slipper Stakes winners Phelan Ready and Sebring in Australia, Get Ready Bertie was successful in the Listed Tiffany Lass Stakes as a three-year-old.

Now a six-year-old, she was sold carrying a foal from the second crop of Grade 1 winner Majestic Warrior.

The eighth session saw 263 horses change hands for a total of $3,795,800, a drop of 23 per cent from 2009. The average fell 28 per cent to $14,599 while the median fell eight per cent to $12,000. The clearance rate was 80 per cent.
