Moonlight Cloud has the ancestry for Classic path

TALK about not being able to see the woods for the trees. The female line of Prix Imprudence winner Moonlight Cloud adopts a similar thought: it's hard to see the horses for all the black-type.

The daughter of Irish National Stud sire Invincible Spirit is   owned and bred by George Strawbridge and out of the Listed-placed Spectrum mare Ventura. She ran in the colours of the late, great Vincent O'Brien who also bred her.

Second dam Wedding Banquet raced for O'Brien's wife Jacqueline but was bred by David and Diane Nagle's Barronstown Stud. She is out of their legendary mare Doff The Derby, dam of Generous and Irish 1,000 and Oaks winner Imagine,  who is herself dam of Horatio Nelson.

Doff The Derby is a half-sister to Trillion, the dam of Triptych.

The Imprudence was supposed to be a guide as to the merits of the Prix Marcel Boussac, in which runner-up Helleborine, a full-sister to African Rose, occupied the same place behind Misty ForMe. But Moonlight Cl0ud did frank another Arc day trial, having finished fourth to Wootton Basset in the Grand Criterium.
