Montjeu yearling hits six figures at Goffs
THE six-figure mark was reached for the first time at today's Goffs February sale by a Montjeu yearling, the only one in the sale, who was knocked down to Hugo Merry at €100,000.
Consigned by Abbeville & Meadowcourt Studs, the son of the leading sire is the first foal out of a winning Grand Lodge sister to the American Grade 2 winner Grande Melody.
Further back the family contains a host of high-class runners such as Crystal Music and State Crystal.
Merry reported that his purchase would be re-offered in the autumn having bought him on behalf of a client looking to resell later in the year.
