The four-year-old, sent off just over an 18-1 chance, took the Group 3 event by three-quarters of a length over Diyakalanie, who touched off Chinchon for second.

Olivier Peslier rode a fine race on Court Canibal, a son of Montjeu winning for the first time since a successful debut at Fontainebleau in November 2007.

Court Canibal is trained by Mikel Delzangles for the Marquesa de Moratalla and was bred by Childwick Bury Stud Management Ltd. He is out of the Arazi mare Pas D'Heure who won one race for Alain de Royer-Dupré.

"The colt was fit for this race and entitled to run well but we thought it would be difficult to beat Loup Breton," said Delzangles.

Court Canibal's next target will be the Group 2 Prix d'Harcourt at Longchamp on April 5.
