Late Telegraph, a 320,000gns purchase,
wins on racecourse debut

LATE TELEGRAPH, a colt by Montjeu bought by Michael Goodbody on behalf of owner Thomas Barr at the Tattersalls October Sale 2009 for 320,000gns, won at Goodwood today on his racecourse debut.

Henry Cecil - Churchill Downs 03.11.10

Henry Cecil has taken his time with Late Telegraph and his patience has paid off

  PICTURE: EDWARD WHITAKER

The Henry Cecil-trained colt did not run as a juvenile, but he showed tenacity to just get up to win in the last stride, despite hanging right through the straight.

Late Telegraph is a brother to the winner Dance At Dawn, while his dam Bywayofthestars (Danehill) is a half-sister to the Irish Oaks winner Moonstone, Irish Oaks second L'Ancresse and Prix Saint-Alary winner Cerulean Sky.

The Castlebridge Consignment is due to offer a Galileo half-brother at this year's October Sale.
