Dutch Art: bids for his third individual winner at Wolverhampton today

Freshman sires do battle at Wolverhampton

FOUR first-season sires go head to head in pursuit of a new winner in the 5f juvenile maiden that opens today's Wolverhampton's card at 5.45pm.

Cheveley Park Stud sire DutchArt bids for a third individual winner by supplying debutant Monnoyer.

Monnoyer is a half-brother to triple Bunbury Cup Handicap winner Mine who cost 50,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October yearling sales.The Jeremy Noseda-trained colt will bear the same purple silks of Susan Roy that Dutch Art carried to victory in the Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes.


Irish National Stud resident Amadeus Wolf has one winner already on the board and Wolfgang, a debutant representing the powerful Richard Hannon stable, could become his second in this race.

Out of the Elusive Quality mare Eleuthere, Wolfgang was bought by Dwayne Woods for £15,000 at the DBS Premier yearling sale and races for Eddie Stobart chief executive Andrew Tinkler.

Mickley Stud's Multiplex, whose first winner is the promising filly Queens Revenge, also bids for a second individual scorer at Wolverhampton.

Unraced filly Complex was bred by Mickley Stud and is owned by the operation's Richard Kent. She is out of an unraced Docksider half-sister to Norfolk and July Stakes winner Winker Watson.

Tally-Ho Stud stallion Baltic King alsogoes for a second first-crop winner, in the shape of twice-raced colt Courtland King.

Courtland King is out of the Suave Dancer mare Red Rabbit, making him a half-brother to multiple winners Kabreet and Spinning Ruby. He was sold for €16,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September yearling sale.

Also in the race are two newcomers by Piccolo, bred in the first season of a two-year stint at Lanwades Stud at a career-high fee of £5,000 earned after hisson Winker Watson's glittering juvenile season. Vinnie Jones is the first foal out of the winning Woodborough mare Fen Guest and is closely related to high-class miler Pickle; and Jawim is a sister to 5f two-year-old winner Nepotism.
