Keller to skip Breeders' Cup to sell at Tattersalls

MISS Keller, winner of Sunday's E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine, is likely to make her next public appearance at the Tattersalls December Sale in Newmarket.

The five-year-old daughter of Montjeu is bypassing the Breeders' Cup in order to sell at Tattersalls and will be the highlight of a draft consigned by her part owner Three Chimneys Farm. The Kentucky nursery is returning as vendor to the December Sale following a successful first foray in 2010.

Set to sell alongside Miss Keller in the Three Chimneys draft is Daneleta, the dam of Dewhurst Stakes winner and Ballylinch stallion Intense Focus who is in foal to Pivotal.

"Miss Keller will definitely be offered at Newmarket," said Case Clay, president of Three Chimneys. "We've got seven pencilled in to go to Tattersalls at the moment and it is nice to have an anchor to our consignment such as Miss Keller."

Winner of a Gowran Park maiden for John Oxx in 2009, Miss Keller won the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes and ran second to Reggane in the E P Taylor Stakes last season for Three Chimneys Racing LLC and Roger Attfield prior to being offered at the Keeneland November Sale.

She was knocked down to Kern/Lillingston for $700,000, acting on behalf of the third Three Chimneys racing partnership, and returned this season to finish in the frame at Group2 level in Canada prior to Sunday's victory in the colours Three Chimneys, Lordship Stud and Clodagh McStay.

"When we sold (Grade 2 winner) Diamond Diva to Northern Farm for $400,000 at Fasig-Tipton in November 2009, we thought that with her European pedigree she might of made more had she sold in Europe," said Clay. "That got us looking at sending horses with European appeal over to Newmarket to sell.

"We had a good experience last year - we didn't go home with our tail between our legs and Tattersalls were really good to us so we decided to come back."
