Minty back in action

A WELCOME return to the sales grounds yesterday was David Minton of Highflyer Bloodstock, who has been laid low for the past couple of weeks with illness.

"I had my first day back racing on Saturday at Newmarket and today is my first day back at the sales," he says. "I still get rather tired but there are so many 'nannies' here watching me that I'm getting marvellouslywell looked after!"
It didn't take long for Minton to make his presence felt. Within the first two hours Highflyer had struck for three yearlings, headed by a Starcraft colt out of Markova's Dance for whom the agency paid 52,000gns.

"The top end of the market appears to be very good," he says. "Overall it's a solid market but there are some soft spots. I think there could be something for everyone as long as they're willing to be patient."
