Milk It Mick transferred to Haras de la Foret

MILK IT MICK, who will have his first runners next year, is set to move to Haras de la Foret in France for the 2011 breeding season.

The 2003 Dewhurst Stakes winner had most recently been based at Hedgeholme Stud in County Durham but his owner Paul Dixon is hoping he will attract greater support across the Channel.

"Andrew Spalding has done a very good job with him this year at Hedgeholme Stud but, without runners on the track, the horse has slightly struggled to attract mares," said Dixon.

"He should be more attractive to the French market, being by Millkom, who was champion three-year-old at his distance out there. We’ll send some of our own mares to him and he should get support from French breeders as a good source of speed. His yearlings are all strong and full of bone and we have a good few to run next season."

Milk It Mick is set to stand for a fee of €2,000 at Haras de la Foret, whoseroster will also include a new incumbent in Confuchias next year.

The six-year-old son of Cape Cross won the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes as a two-year-old and the following season’s Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle when trained by Francis Ennis. He has subsequently raced for Karl Burke, Pat Eddery and, this season, Jeremy Gask.

Confuchias will stand for 1,800 euros alongside Iron Mask and another new arrival in Shirocco’s brother Storm Trooper.
