Arlington Million winner Debussy to stand at Llety

DEBUSSY, the 2010 Arlington Million winner, has been retired to stand at the Llety Stud in Carmathenshire, Wales.

In a deal brokered by SackvilleDonald, the son of Diesis  will cover his first book of mares at a fee of £3,500, filly foal-free return, October 1 terms.

Debussy was bred by Darley and is out of the Singspiel mare Opera Comique, who was Group 3-placed two and comes from the family of King George winner Belmez and other stakes performers including  Dowland, Forward Lass, Model Girl and River Valley.

As well as defeating Gio Ponti by half a length at Arlington, Debussy finished third to Twice Over in the 2010 Champion Stakes and won the Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam as a three-year-old for trainer John Gosden., switching later to Mahmood  Al Zarooni. He earned prize-money of £825,000 during a career that saw him last run at Goodwood in September 2011.

Debussy will join Choisir's son Stimulation at Llety.
