Midnight Legend on the mark at Wincanton

MIDNIGHT LEGEND'S purple patch continued on Sunday with the win of Midnight Opera in the Blackmore Building Contractors Novices' Hurdle at Wincanton. The five-year-old, trained by Neil Mulholland, is out of Ballad Opera, a Sadler's Wells half-sister to former top jumps sire Supreme Leader.

The Pitchall Farm resident sired a one-two in yesterday's EBF-sponsored Listed mares' chase at Newbury, had placed runners on Thursday and Friday, with another winner at Newton Abbot last Sunday.

Fellow Pitchall Farm stallion Passing Glance sired a winner at Hexham, where Attaglance landed division two of the SIS Novices' Hurdle. The five-year-old is one of two hurdle winners from five runners by the sire, along with Cody Wyoming, a 100-1 winner at Lingfield last Monday.
