First foal for St Leger hero Sixties Icon
THE first foal by Sixties Icon was born on Wednesday evening at Norman Court Stud near Salisbury, where the St Leger winner stands.
The new arrival is a bay filly out of prolific winning sprint handicapper Linda Green, a daughter of Victory Note. The foal's proud owner is comedian Jimmy Tarbuck.
Sixties Icon, a son of Galileo and Oaks heroine Love Divine, won eight races including the St Leger at three, the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes at four and a Group 3 treble in the Glorious Stakes, Geoffrey Freer Stakes and Cumberland Lodge Stakes at five.
One day earlier, the first reported foal by Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Midnight Lute was born at John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms in Kentucky.
The newborn filly is out of none other than Grade 1 Lady'sSecret Stakes and Grade 1 Ruffian Handicap winner Tough Tiz's Sis. She was bred by Karl Watson and Weitman Performance.
