My Petra: her brothers were winners at Taunton and Huntingdon

  PICTURE: MARTIN LYNCH

Cross-country double for My Petra brothers

TWO brothers notched a cross-card double on Thursday, with Midnight Appeal winning his chase debut in the Clacton Comrades Carling Handicap Chase at Huntigndon, and Lake Legend taking the Charlie Company 40 Commando Royal Marines Novices' Chase at Taunton. Both are trained by Alan King.

They are also brothers to the smart mare My Petra, trained by Nicky Henderson. Six-time winner My Petra was foaled in 2003, while Lake Legend was born a year later and equals her win tally, and Midnight Appeal is a 2005 foal.

They were bred by William Wilkinson, out of the French Lac Marmot, a daughter of Marju. Their sire, Midnight Legend, stands for £4,000 at Pitchall Stud in Warwickshire.
