Darley-bred Carlton House a new Street star

A breeding analysis of Carlton House and each of the day's other Group races will appear in tomorrow's results section of the Racing Post. Download the digital newspaper from 3am or buy the pdf newspaper from 9am.

DANTE Stakes winner Carlton House is the headline act of the arrangement which saw the Queen receive six two-year-olds in a private deal from Sheikh Mohammed and the Aga Khan last year.

Victory saw him become the 47th stakes winner for Darley's Street Cry, who has emerged as one of Kentucky's premier stallions thanks to 12 Group or Grade 1 winners including the outstanding Zenyatta, Kentucky Derby hero Street Sense and Melbourne Cup winner Shocking.

Darley bred Carlton House out of Sun Chariot Stakes winner Talented, a daughter of Bustino who is the dam of four other winners ranging from 5f scorer Secret Pride (by Green Desert) to 1m7f Listed winner Friston Forest (by Barathea).

Runner-up Seville, by Galileo, was bred by auction house Tattersalls out of French Group 3 winner Silverskaya, who changed hands to Charlie Gordon-Watson for 750,000gns at the 2007 Tattersalls December Sale. Tattersalls assumed ownership when the agent's client failed to pay.

Middleton Stakes (Group 2), 1m2 1/2f, 4yo+ fillies

ONE of the best sprinting displays ever seen at York came when Oasis Dream ran away with the 2003 Nunthorpe Stakes but the Banstead Manor Stud resident has produced an excellent middle-distance filly in Midday, winner of the Middleton Stakes on Thursday.

One of 23 Group winners by Oasis Dream, Midday was bred by Juddmonte Farms out of the 2003 Lingfield Oaks Trial runner-up Midsummer. The daughter of Kingmambo is one of nine stakes performers out of the brilliant producer Modena, who struck notoriety as the dam of Eclipse Stakes hero Elmaamul and 1997 Oaks heroine Reams Of Verse, the dam of Thursday's Dante Stakes fourth World Domination.

ST Moritz is making a fine job of winning back the 105,000gns it took owner Billy Hughes to secure him at last year's Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.  Thursday's victory in theHambleton Handicap was his third success of the year and took his earnings for the season close to £50,000.

Bred by Newsells Park Stud, St Moritz is one of two stakes winners this season by Medicean following Meydan Group 3 winner Bankable. He is a half-brother to three minor winners and out of the Group 3-placed Statua, a Statoblest half-sister to Group 3 winner Bluegrass Prince.

Statua has two-year-old colt by Dylan Thomas named Fort Sam Houston and a yearling filly by Mount Nelson.
