Midday scanned in foal to superstar Frankel

SIX-TIME Group or Grade 1 winner Midday has been scanned in foal to Frankel. The seven-year-old daughter of Oasis Dream was the first mare to be covered by Frankel in February.

Midday produced her first foal, a colt by Frankel's sire Galileo, in January.

Juddmonte general manager Philip Mitchell said: "It is now six weeks since Midday was last covered, and we are happy that everything is progressing as it should."

"With 16 Group 1 wins between the sire and the dam, it is a mating that has attracted a great deal of interest and we look forward to next year's foal with great anticipation."

In an unusual move, Juddmonte has posted footage of the scan by Ollie Pynn of Rossdales on its Frankel website. Click here to see the video:

Midday represented the same owner-breeder and trainer team - Khalid Abdullah and Sir Henry Cecil - to win three consecutive renewals of the Nassau Stakes, the Yorkshire Oaks, the Prix Vermeille and the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

She is among around 130 elite mares who feature in unbeaten ten-time Group 1 winner Frankel's first northern hemisphere book at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket this year.
