Magnificent Midday first to be covered by Frankel

JUDDMONTE has revealed six-time Group/Grade 1 winner Midday will be the first mare to visit their world champion and first season sire Frankel.

Midday delivered her first foal, a colt by Galileo, on January 16. Described by Juddmonte Farms' stud manager Simon Mockridge as "strong and muscular, an excellent first foal", it will be hoped the success is repeated following this week's visit to Galileo's undefeated son.

Trained by Sir Henry Cecil, who also guided Frankel throughout his career, Midday is one of 60 mares booked to Juddmonte's new resident to have either won a Group 1 or produced a top-flight winner.

Frankel landed ten Group 1 races during his time on the track, and following his last run in October when landing the Champion Stakes, now prepares to embark upon his new career.
