Valuable maiden win for Almutawakel relation

ERAADA enhanced her paddock value on Tuesday with a game success over Flambard House (Camacho) in the 7f maiden at Catterick. Code Cracker (Medicean), the first foal out of Prix de Diane winner Confidential Lady, faded into third.

Eraada, a Shadwell-bred daughter of Medicean, is the 15th foal out of Listed winner Elfaslah and a three-parts sister to the 1999 Dubai World Cup hero and successful sire Almutawakel, by Machiavellian.

Elfaslah also clicked with Machiavellian to produce the 1,000 Guineas runner-up Muwakleh and Group 2-placed Elmustanser while a visit to Lammtarra yielded the Group 3-placed Inaaq.

All bar one of Elfaslah's 14 runners have won. Eraada is the last reported foal out of the daughter of Green Desert, who was barren to Nayef and Tamayuz in 2010 and 2011.

Elfaslah was trained by Tom Jones to win the 1991 Listed Diamond Fillies Stakes at the Curragh. Her value was further enhanced two years later when her half-brother, White Muzzle, won the Derby Italiano and ran second in the Arc.
