Street Cry filly lights up first hour at Tattersalls

A DAUGHTER of Darley's leading US-based stallion Street Cry lit up the early proceedings of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale on Wednesday when selling to agent Richard Frisby on behalf of an undisclosed client for 100,000gns.

Frisby had to fight off a determined Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock, standing with Simon Callaghan, to secure the filly, who had been led out unsold as a yearling at $90,000 at the Keeneland September Sale.

Consigned by Hillwood Stud, she is out of Clever Dorothy, a French Listed-placed daughter of Clever Trick from the family of Triptych and Generous.

Several lots earlier, Mark Player, representing the Hong Kong Jockey Club, made a first foray into the British breeze up market when paying 65,000gns for a strapping son of Medaglia d'Oro (8) from Kilminfoyle House Stud.
