Master crafts a first stakes winner in Italy
MASTERCRAFTSMAN became the first of this year's European freshman sires to record a stakes winner when his son Pablosky landed the Listed Premio Alberto Giubilo at the Cappenelle on Sunday.
Trained by Giuseppe di Chio, Pablosky had broken his maiden at the same course last month. He scored his second success on Sunday by an impressive four lengths.
Pablosky was bred by Tony O'Dwyer out of the Tale Of The Cat mare Save The Table, a half-sister to Royal Dignitary, whose 20 career wins include the Listed Thirsk Classic Trial.
Save The Table's first two foals, Jollywood and Samuel Pickwick - both by Holy Roman Emperor - have won.
New Racing Factory purchased Pablosky for £20,000 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sale last year.
Mastercraftsman, a son of Danehill Dancer, won four Group 1s - the Phoenix Stakes and National Stakes at two and the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes at three.
He stands at Coolmore at a fee of €12,500.
