Massini's family to the fore again at Fairyhouse

A POPULAR Oscar filly continued a good day for breeder Gerard Quirke at the Tattersalls Ireland February National Hunt sale when she was snapped up by agent Aiden Murphy for €24,000.

The daughter of Oscar is a half-sister to the Cheltenham Festival hero Massini's Maguire whom Murphy bought for 200,000gns after he won a Limerick bumper for Margaret Mullins in May 2005.

Earlier in the day Quirke had supplied a Presenting-sired nephew of this filly who was sold to John O'Byrne for €25,000.

Murphy also struck for a daughter of Presenting offered by Borris House who cost €21,000. She is the sixth foal out of Nicky Henderson's high-class dual bumper scorer Native Bid.

Prior to this a Flemensfirth half-brother to the 2008 Royal & Sun Alliance Novice Chase scorer Albertas Run came the way of Summerhill at €15,000.

This price was matched by Padge Berry when he secured a filly by the same sire out of a half-sister to the high class chaser Shotgun Willy and the Welsh National hero Mini Sensation.
