Breakthrough winner
for Dandoun

MARY HELEN, the first runner by Dandoun, also became her sire's first winner when breaking her maiden at the fourth attempt in the 7f seller at Yarmouth this afternoon.

The filly was bred by World Racing Network out of the 19-year-old Last Tycoon mare Hotel California, making her a half-sister to winners Dot's Delight and Goldie.

She is trained and joint-owned by Shropshire handler Mark Brisbourne, who bought her for 1,000gns at Tattersalls last year.

By Halling and out of a stakes-placed half-sister to Olden Times and Festoso, Dandoun was a triple winner at three, landed successive renewals of the Doncaster Mile at four and five, and also won the Group 2 Prix du Muguet.

He was initially retired to Raven's Barn near Newmarket, but was relocated to stand at the Agro Byskovice Stud in the Czech Republic in 2007.
