Market Rasen: bargain buy repays owner

MARKET RASEN winner Risaala is a shining example of value for money, as the Alhaarth mare has now won or been placed in seven of nine starts and won almost £20,000 in prize-money. She also earned black type when second in a mares' Listed bumper at Sandown last year.

She was sold by Shadwell Estate Co Ltd as a two-year-old for 1,500gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training sale, knocked down to current owner David Bayliss. Risaala is a half-sister to the 82-rated Flat winner Noble Plum, and her dam, Perfect Plum, was a dual Group 3 winner over a mile in France when trained by Sir Mark Prescott.
