Exceed And Excel's hot run continues at Ayr

FEW stallions can match the current form of Exceed And Excel, whose daughter Margot Did recorded her second stakes win within eight days when landing the Listed EBF Major Cadeaux Land O'Burns Fillies' Stakes at Ayr on Saturday.

The Michael Bell-trained three-year-old is one of ten European stakes winners this season by the Australian-bred son of Danehill, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket for £12,000.

Margot Did's victory in last Saturday's Listed Scurry Stakes kickstarted a good Royal Ascot for Exceed And Excel; Best Terms became his third juvenile stakes winner of the year when taking the Queen Mary Stakes while Excelebration ran a good third to Frankel in the St. James's Palace Stakes.

A bargain 10,000gns purchase by Richard Frisby at the 2010 Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-up Sale, Margot Did is the best of three winners out of Italian winner Special Dancer, a half-sister to Irish Group 3 winner Cajarian and Australian Listed winner Very Sydney. She was bred in Ireland by N. Hartery.

Special Dancer has an unnamed two-year-old filly Clodovil.
