Shirocco filly tops final day at BBAG sale

DAY THREE of the Baden-Badener Auktionsgesellschaft (BBAG) October mixed sale saw a daughter of Shirocco top the billat €22,000.

The yearling was a successful pinhook, having been purchased by BBA Germany for €7,500 just six weeks earlier in the same sales ring. She was bought for the Czech Yoko stable.


A Manduro filly from Gestüt Hofgut Heymann made €20,000 when selling to Stall Wintergude. Her dam Ivowen was third in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

The final day's trading brought the aggregate to €2,380,500, which far surpasses last year's tally, although there were only two days of selling in 2009, with no premium session.

The average price at the sale was €7,557 andthe median was €7,156. From 361 lots offered, 315 (87 per cent) were knocked down, including buy-backs.
