Harlan's Holiday transferred to WinStar

HARLAN'S HOLIDAY has been switched from Airdrie Stud to WinStar Farm for 2011, as the latter operation has acquired a significant interest in the sire.

The 11-year-old son of Harlan will stand at the same fee at which he had been advertised by Airdrie - $25,000.

Harlan's Holiday - a triple Grade 1 winner on the track, in the Florida Derby, Blue Grass Stakes and Donn Handicap - has stood his entire stud career atBrereton C. Jone's Airdrie since 2004.

Harlan's Holiday is sire of one of 2010's leading American sprinters, Majesticperfection, and Grade 1 performers Denis Of Cork and Into Mischief.

WinStar president Elliott Walden said: "Harlan's Holiday is a stallion we've always thought a lot of, and we're excited about the opportunity to build on the early success he's achieved while at Airdrie.

"He's a proven stallion that represents the quality we continue to strive for at WinStar. And to that end, Harlan's Holiday greatly compliments our growing stallion roster, as well as the farm's broodmare band.

"For the money, we feel like Harlan's Holiday and Bluegrass Cat now give us the best one-two punch from the Storm Cat line."

Harlan's Holiday had 109 foals born in 2009, 121 foals born in 2010, and covered 162 mares this year.
