Majestic Missile off the mark with first winner

GROUP 3-winning sprinter Majestic Missile became the latest freshman sire to get off the board with a first winner when his son Majestic Myles scored in the 5f European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes at Musselburgh on Friday.

Richard Fahey-trained Majestic Myles was bred by Arctic Tack Stud out of the eight-year-old Elnadim mare Gala Style, who hails from the high-achieving Moyglare Stud Farm family of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Trusted Partner and Matriarch Stakes heroine Dress To Thrill.

Majestic Myles was registered as unsold as a foal at Goffs for €3,800, and was purchased by Robin O'Ryan for £11,500 at the DBS St Leger yearling sale for £11,500. He is owned by James Gaffney.

Trained by William Haggas, Majestic Missile made 22 starts, all bar one over the minimumdistance of 5f. He won six races, including three Group 3 contests - the Molecomb Stakes and Cornwallis Stakes at two and the Prix du Petit Couvert at five.

He stands at Ballyhane Stud in County Carlow at a fee of €3,000 in 2010.
